At stake was the Arthur Hunt Memorial Trophy which was inaugurated in 1982 in memory of the London Cornish club stalwart who originally came from Saltash and was a founding member of the club.

Within two minutes captain Ian Boyling contributed to the Camels' tally with a powerful drive that rewarded him with a try which Davidson converted.

London Cornish still remained competitive and gained five points for their effort with five minutes of the first half remaining when inside centre Ben Carew-Gibbs touched down out wide on the left wing and fly half Connor O'Daley converted to make the half-time score 19- 7. The pressure from the Cornish continued unabated for several minutes within a few metres of the try line but ferocious tackling by Camels prevented any further score from the visitors.

With two minutes remaining it was new Camels player and ex Launceston fly half Adam Collins who jinked through three tackles to touch down with Dan Prout converting to finish the game 33-7. On Saturday, the Camels firsts are away to Bude in a pre season friendly.

Called Fragments, the exhibition uses more than 100 objects - including stone, furniture and furnishings from the former castle buildings - along with models and paintings showing the castle and the castle rock site through the centuries.

Located in the museum's Nottingham Story gallery, this is the last of three major displays showcasing the area's history and legends in the wake of this year's Robin Hood movie, starring Russell Crowe.

BORN more than three months prematurely and weighing barely as much as a bag of sugar, tiny Niamh Allen faced a long fight to survive.

For nearly a year, her parents took it in turns to stay at their daughter's hospital bedside, desperately hoping she would pull through.

The infant had been born 14 weeks early and weighed only 1lb 10oz.

Her premature birth meant her airways were seriously under- developed and she could not breathe on her own.

Dad Peter, 43, said that at times it was "touch and go" as to whether baby Niamh would survive.

He said: "It was the most terrifying time of my life. We felt so helpless because there was really nothing we could do."

Her twin sister, Finola, had also been born prematurely but, amazingly, showed no real problems as she developed.

Mr Allen said: "They were both born with severe brain trauma. But while Niamh could not breathe on her own, Finola seemed to manage."

Astonishingly, Niamh grew stronger and now, eight years later, she is fit, healthy and as active as any other eight-yearold.

Her parents say Rainbows Children's Hospice played a vital part in her recovery.

The turning point came almost a year after Niamh's birth, according to Mr Allen.

"My wife, Eithne, spent most of that year in the hospital, as did I. Every day was a constant worry.

"Our son, Louis, who was three, was there a lot, too. He ended up knowing more medical words than any other three-year-old I've known.

"For 10 months, doctors had not been sure what to do about Niamh's condition. Then a specialist professor suggested a tracheotomy."

The operation plants a tube in the windpipe to help with breathing. Once Niamh had undergone this, her condition started to improve.

Finally, the family, who live in Leicester, were able to bring Niamh home - but the problems did not end there.

The couple had to give their daughter almost constant attention and use medical equipment provided by the hospital - all the while with two other young children to look after.

An oxygen tank was fitted in the garage and there were tubes all round the house, so Niamh could be hooked up to breathing apparatus in every room. She had a small portable oxygen cylinder for when the family went out.

Her parents were medically trained to use all the equipment, including a suction machine to keep the tube in Niamh's throat clean.

Mr Allen said: "She needed the tube to stay alive, so we had an alarm at night, which would sound if it became loose while she was sleeping.

"We were living on a knifeedge."

THERE was a time when it seemed as if Rob Dewey couldn't put a foot wrong on a rugby pitch. At the start of the 2005-06 season, the powerful centre scored four tries for Edinburgh in his first five games as a professional player, and established himself as the longawaited solution to Scotland's midfield crisis.

Although the start of his international career was postponed for a year by a couple of shoulder injuries, he then made an immediate impact when he did eventually pull on the navy blue jersey by scoring three tries in his first four matches at that level.

By the time the 2007 Rugby World Cup came along, he was 23 years old and firmly established as his country's most lethal attacking weapon. Sadly, such a charmed existence doesn't tend to last long in Scottish rugby and, because of the spectacular nature of his early success, Dewey's fall from grace was particularly dramatic.

He played every game in the World Cup, scoring a try in his team's curtain-raiser against Portugal, before joining up with his new club Ulster in November 2007. He was one of a number of players who decided to leave the capital that summer, as a bitter power struggle between the SRU and Bob Carruthers, who franchised the pro-team at that time, raged out of control.

Cutting the apron-strings has worked wonders for some of those players. For Dewey, it was an unmitigated disaster.

'I went over there (to Ulster) with a cartilage injury in my knee, which I had picked up in the first game of the World Cup, and that was always hanging over me,' he explained. 'Because I was so keen to impress, I didn't really tell anyone about it and, as a result, it took a long time to get sorted. It got to the stage that I was playing games and I couldn't sprint flat out. That's when I finally knew it needed sorted.

'The rehab was fairly long, it took three or four months, so that was effectively my season over.' By the time Dewey was fit again, Mark McCall, the coach who had brought him to Belfast, had been replaced by Matt Williams -- a man who needs no introduction to Scottish rugby fans -- and Dewey's face clearly didn't fit anymore.

This summer, Dewey was thrown a lifeline by Glasgow coach Sean Lineen -- and he is determined to make the most of the opportunity. The victims, two 19-year-old men, were taken to hospitals by friends and were expected to survive, police said.

Montclair police received a call at 12:12 a.m. about a shooting outside Bombay Bistro at 8851 Central Ave. The business was hosting a hip hop concert, police said.

When people filtered out of the restaurant into the parking lot, someone opened fire, striking two men in the legs.
