Optical Fiber Communications 2002
ST. LAURENT, Quebec--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 2002
Lumenon Innovative Lightwave Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ NM: LUMM), a manufacturer of high-quality optical devices for the global telecommunications, data communications and cable markets announced today that it has signAustria Jerseyed a contract with Poly-Scientific, a business unit of Northrop Grumman's Component Technologies sector, to develop and market a Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) Module. Key to this product is Lumenon's supply of three waveguide components for the ROADM.
"This is a major step forward in Lumenon's maturity. It gives Lumenon significant traction into the marketplace when a large well-established company such as Poly-Scientific recognizes and validates the potential of the PHASIC design process and manufacturing methodology. Lumenon will be selling multiple components to Poly-Scientific for each ROADM as well as working with Poly-Scientific going forward towards monolithic integration of the ROADM functions," announced Gary Moskovitz, President of Lumenon.
Larry Ball, President of Poly-Scientific commented, "With Poly-Scientific's quick and reliable MEMS technology, we searched for a company with planar technology and a strong integration roadmap going forward to support this important effort. We have completed the feasibility and initial development of a compact ROADM and look forward to introducing it to the market shortly. This is an exciting development and we are pleased to be working with a technology leader like Lumenon. Our business plan has the ROADM proviGucci Replica Watchesding a significant push for us into the telecommunications market for our MEMS technology."
"We believe that the small size, low price, minimal loss of the ROADM will make it very attractive in the telecommunications market, especially for companies looking to get to market quickly and competitively. Lumenon is enthusiastic about Poly Scientific's ROADM and looks forward to a continuing fruitful relationship," continued Mr. Moskovitz.
Both Poly-Scientific and Lumenon Innovative Lightwave will be at the upcoming Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference and Exhibition, March 17-22 in Anaheim, California where they will cross market the ROADM and meet with prospective customers.
